SCD F32 with Mura B Gp20 Betta 1970 Autocoast Ti22Painted by Mick - Langridge?Brass chassis by Chas Keeling (SCD)

Here’s our Formula 32 car in preparation for the BSCRA Classics Race & Fun Day at Ipswich on 13 July. F32 was an entry level class started in 1971, with simple chassis that cost 99p! Power came from Group 20 motors which was more than enough for the basic brass frame they were fitted to.

This is a nicely rebuilt SCD chassis, with an early Mura B can Group 20 motor kindly fettled by John Secchi. We know it’s an early one because brushes are 16D not the larger 36D ones later fitted. Like the chassis , the body was bought off ebay and we surmise was painted by Mick Langridge. Probably a Betta body, the 1970 Autocoast Ti22 Can-Am car was frequently used in the early 1970s. Front wheels are set screw Delrins, also by SCD. Gears are the original Taylormade, on a 1/8″ axle. Right, now we need to find an interior and do something with those motor wires!

Fantastic effort in getting car ready and a good article.
Look forward to seeing you and the rest of the competitors on Saturday 13th July 2013, for what should be a GREAT day.
